What is a dApp?
Decentralized Applications, similar to other apps we use, are built as a solution to our needs. dApps run on a blockchain as a part of the ecosystem. All you need to start using one is a Web3 wallet - which is also a dApp!
What is a web3 wallet?
Wallets act as anonymous IDs that you can use to hold or transfer an asset. In Web3, the wallets replace the traditional login format of ‘username and password’ to interact with applications. Think of them as your email address for sending or receiving AREA. Wallets also let us authorize transactions in a dApp, in the form of crypto ‘signatures’. Areon Wallet is a great example of a Web3 wallet.
How do dApps work?
Decentralized applications run a set of codes known as smart contracts to interact with a blockchain. dApps and smart contracts are permanently deployed on the Areon Chain. Users interact with dApps via their Web3 wallets such as Areon Wallet.
What is a smart contract?
A smart contract is a set of rules that define outcomes based on actions. dApps run smart contracts. The results are permanent and transparent due to the nature of blockchains. These codes mediate transactions between two users or a user and an app.
How can I use a dApp?
Decentralized apps permissionless. You don’t need to sign up, you can directly start using them by connecting your Web3 wallet. Most dApps require transaction fees. In our network, you need AREA to complete these transactions.
